Description
The concept of intestinal fibrosis has changed from being a static and irreversible entity to a dynamic and reversible condition, as seen in other organs including skin, kidney, lung, heart and liver, in which fibrosis has been shown to be reversible.
Several experimental animal models have tested curcumin on lung fibrosis and these studies demonstrate that curcumin attenuates lung injury and fibrosis caused by radiation, chemotherapeutic drugs, and toxicants.
